Studio Vibeke Skar:

Vibeke Skar is a freelance designer under the name Studio Vibeke Skar. She works with a wide range of products and materials, creating particular products that people can relate to. She likes to tell stories with the objects finding the inspiration from Norwegian culture, nature and traditions. She has exhibited in Oslo, Milano, Tokyo, Stockholm and Paris, and has two collections in production. Evergreen glass lamps by Northern Lighting and Arctic table Collection in Corian by Corinor.

Vibeke Skar is born in Oslo, raised in Bærums Verk. She has always had a passion for creating things. It started with an interest for fashion and clothes that developed into a wish of making products. After upper secondary school she fulfilled her dream of study design in Italy, at ISIA, where she took her bachelor degree and worked as an intern at Poltronova, a furniture company founded by Ettore Sottsass in 1957. She tok her master degree at AHO in Oslo and worked as a intern at Frost Produkt, a design office based in Oslo. In 2011 she was the project leader of the Young talent design award and project assistant for the Norwegian Design day at the Norwegian Design Council. Since the summer of 2009, she has worked as a freelance designer with clients like Northern Lighting, Corinor, Hadeland Glassverk and Fam Irvoll. In march 2011 she started working for Porsgrund Porcelain factory as an inhouse designer.
